Now, the guest has updated Reddit users about Disney’s response to the situation and it appears the company is doing the right thing and rewarding the guest for being honest about the existence of COVID. u/disturbing Wrote:

An update to my previous post about getting COVID in the middle of a flight:

Disney was beautiful, as usual. They bring back unused night points for DVC and give us park tickets well into 2025.

It’s not how we wanted this trip to go, but it’s really nice to know that we don’t lose all the money we spent. Basically, we’ll take out the plane ticket home and what we spend to get home via a rental car instead.

It sucks, but Disney makes sure it doesn’t suck on too much.

Other Disney Parks fans in the thread praised Disney for “doing the right thing” under the circumstances – u / shinychicklet chimed in, posting:

So sorry to hear about the Covid news but was relieved to hear that Disney is doing the right thing! Have you called your airline? They may give you a credit to use at another time. Again, they need to discourage people with Covid from flying, so they really should count on you and not just take your money. I hope you start feeling better soon!

I am really glad that Disney is effectively rewarding your honesty by helping you so generously. I’m sure a lot of people will decide on power during their journey feeling sick and spreading COVID-19. hope you get well soon.
