Russell Westbrook You get a new agent, but that doesn’t seem to have anything to do with Lakers. According to Dan Wiki and Broderick Turner, The Los Angeles TimesWestbrook did not ask for a deal from the Lakers.
Late Friday night, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Westbrook and his agent, Thad Foucher, were parting ways over “irreconcilable disagreements.”
In a statement to ESPN, Futcher said he believes “Westbrook’s best option is to stay with the Lakers” and “adopt the starting and support role that Darvin Ham publicly provided.”
However, this decision does not appear to be because Westbrook disagrees with Foucher’s opinion of his future. A source told Los Angeles Times That decision “has nothing to do with the Lakers.”

New Lakers coach Darvin Hamm publicly supported Westbrook, despite rumors that the team wanted to move from base. Westbrook opted for his contract next year, when he will earn $47 million before hitting free agency outside next season.
All this happened despite the Lakers’ continued interest in the Nets goalkeeper Keri Irving, as Los Angeles would need to scrap Westbrook’s salary in order to acquire Irving in any way. If the Lakers do eventually manage to execute the Irving deal, Westbrook will likely be sent elsewhere as part of the deal.
Westbrook’s first season with Los Angeles was a tumultuous one, averaging less than 20 points per game for the first time since 2010 and the team missing the playoffs.
