Buddy Pemblett may have scored an impressive win against Jordan Levitt at UFC Fight Night in London, but Saturday’s showdown was touching for the UFC fighter in more ways than one.
After winning the battle, Pemblett took a minute to talk about the importance of men taking care of their mental health. Pemblett revealed after his fight that five hours before he weighed in on Friday, he heard his friend had died by suicide
As tears filled his eyes, Pemblet issued an appeal to men who might contemplate suicide, especially those who fall into the stigma of feeling vulnerable if they discuss what’s going on in their lives.

“If you have weight on your shoulders and think the only way to solve it is to kill yourself, please talk to someone,” Pemblett said. “Talk to anyone. Prefer people… I know I’d rather cry on my shoulder than go to his funeral next week. So please, let’s get rid of this stigma and guys start talking.”
Pimblett, who improved to 3-0 in the UFC, also dedicated Saturday’s win to four-year-old Joshua Hodgson, who died in June of cancer.
