Omaha Peleu, the No. 12 college esports men’s college basketball inductee No. 12 in the 2023 class, announced Tuesday that he is committed to Iowa.
Biliew, the No. 1 rated player in Missouri, became the highest rated recruit in the program’s history as well as the first five-star recruit for the Cyclones, according to the Des Moines Record .
The six-foot-eight-footed forward has shown performances from Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Texas Tech and Western Kentucky. In mid-May, Biliew reduced his offers to Kansas, Oregon, Iowa or play professionally with the G League Ignite before opting for the Cyclones, which he introduced exactly one year earlier.

Peleu, who grew up in Iowa, played the Link Year Prep in his junior season in Branson, Missouri. He helped the team cross the 34-2 mark last season. Prior to his junior campaign, Biliew spent his freshman season at Dowling Catholic where he averaged 6.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks per game.
As a sophomore, he transferred to Waukeee where he averaged 10.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.1 blocks per game and helped the Warriors win a Class 4A state championship. According to the record, Biliew is expected to return to Waukee in his first season and will be the No. 1 player in Iowa.
Biliew enters a program led by Cyclones coach TJ Otzelberger and joins two other top 2023 recruits such as four-star recruit Milan Momcilovic of Wisconsin and Georgia goalkeeper Gilani Hamilton.
