Beyoncé Adds Madonna To A Fantastic New Break My Soul Remix

It’s been a whole week since Beyhive’s new album, Beyhive. Renaissance, was released. To head off this eventful week, Queen Bey has decided to drop the ultimate bombshell, a remix with the Queen of Pop.

The announcement and release of the latest “Break My Soul” remix came on Friday. Titled “Queens Remix,” the track features guest vocals from Madonna, thanks to her 1990 hit single “Vogue.” It’s the latest remix of the song to be dropped after a week of various variations from the likes of will.i.am, Honey Dijon, Terry Hunter and Nita Aviance.

In the original song, Madonna pays tribute to famous movie stars in Old Hollywood. She refers to everyone from Marlon Brando to James Dean to Marilyn Monroe.

In this new remix, Beyoncé pays tribute to the many black women in music.

“Queen Mother Madonna, Aaliyah, Rosita Tharp, Santigold, Bessie Smith, Nina Simone, Bette Davis, Solange Knowles, Badoo This, So Kelly Roll…Lauren Hill, Roberta Flack, Tony, Janet, Tierra Wake. Missy, Diana, Grace Jones, Aretha, Anita, Grace Jones,” she sings.

She also names Chloe x Halle, Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and former Destiny Child bandmate Michelle Williams. Bey also lists several legendary ballrooms including the House of Miyake-Mugler, House of Amazon, House of Balmain, House of Revlon, House of LaBeija, and House of Balenciaga.

This marks Madonna and Beyonce’s first official collaboration on a song. Beyoncé previously appeared in the Queen of Pop music video for her 2015 single “Bitch I’m Madonna” from her album “Rebel Heart.” The video also featured Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Chris Rock, Rita Ora, Diplo, and Nicki Minaj, who appeared in the song.

And while Beyoncé presents Madonna with her advertising paraphernalia, “Vogue” isn’t the only sample that’s made the news this week.

On the track “Energy,” Beyoncé used a twist on Kelly’s “Milkshake.” Near the end of the song, Beyoncé sings the familiar “La-la, la-la, la” part of “Milkshake.” However, the new version of the song removed those sounds from the track due to Kelis’ disapproval.

“My real beef isn’t just with Beyoncé because, at the end of the day, she sampled a drum, she copied me before, she’s done things before, and so are many other artists, that’s okay. I don’t care,” she said in an Instagram video. . “The issue is… we are artists, well, black artists in an industry we are—there aren’t that many of us, right? We’ve met each other, we know each other, we have mutual friends. It’s not that hard, she can connect, right?”

Kelis is not listed as a song producer, composer, or songwriter. Chad Hugo, Pharrell Williams, Rob Walker, and Neptune are credited as the song’s producers. Hugo and Williams are the two poets and composers. Kelis is listed as a “Milkshake” performer.

The “Power” credits no longer list Hugo and Williams as co-authors of the song.

Beyoncé may have had to cut out one great sample from her album, but she made up for it even more by using her for another album.
