Real Housewives of New Jersey, the new husband of star Teresa Giudice, Luis Ruelas, is still charged with owing $240,944 to sellers after he was sued for $646,301 in five lawsuits.

But The Sun can exclusively reveal that Lewis is still reeling from legal and financial drama following the appointment of a union official with Teresa.
Lewis & Co’s Produce Depot was sued by Prometo Produce Corp on July 16, 2021, alleging that they owed “$127,540 plus contractual interest of 18% per annum.”
According to court papers obtained by The Sun, Produce Depot gave the seller two advance payments of $250,000 to purchase the avocado.
Despite the progress, the seller claimed Produce Depot, Luis, and other defendants failed to pay an additional $127,540 in avocado loads.
In the defendants’ response, they claimed that the avocados they received “suffered various defects at the end of the season and were not of the quality necessary or suitable for resale.”
The plaintiffs allegedly agreed to adjust the price of an avocado to $132,844.
Produce Depot, Luis and their business partners filed a counterclaim, alleging that the company “failed and refused” to pay them a price adjustment and demanded the amount.

Prometo Produce Corp. responded to the counterclaim by denying the price adjustment.
In a second lawsuit, Produce Depot, Lewis and his business partner were sued by CH Robinson Worldwide on September 23, 2021.
Court papers claim that the company sold “fresh fruits and vegetables” to Lewis on October 20, 2020 and November 13, 2020 for “$113,404.40.”
The court papers stated: “Produce Depot has failed and refused to pay for goods ordered, received and accepted by the plaintiff, despite due demand.”
Lewis and the other defendants responded to the lawsuit in December 2021.
Lewis and his business partner claimed that they were “not individuals, or were in the custody, control, or management” of the production business.
Still ongoing
Prometo Produce Corp and CH Robinson Worldwide wrote in a letter to the judge that the two companies had “reached a settlement” with Lewis.
Although settlement agreements have been reached, the parties still need to “finish, implement and enforce the settlement,” with the two companies asking the judge to hold a conference because they need “the court’s assistance in finalizing the proposed settlement.”
A settlement conference was held on May 3 for both cases.
But the two cases were then “discontinued”, meaning they were suspended, in relation to Louis due to his company’s ongoing bankruptcy case.
Luis filed for bankruptcy filings on March 2, 2022, for $1,660,488.10.
Bankruptcy continues.
No final settlement has been brought to court and both cases are still open.
Three other issues
As The Sun previously reported, three other lawsuits against Luis and Produce Depot are now closed.
Mascari Enterprises and Cedro Bananas wholesale distributors struck Louis, his company and his business partners with a lawsuit on January 22, 2021.
The court papers stated: “Between November 2, 2020 and December 23, 2020, the Claimant sold and delivered bulk quantities of products to the defendants… with a total value of $308,191.
“The defendants failed to pay for the goods when payment was due, despite repeated requests, and the plaintiff currently owes $283,191.”
On December 24, 2020, the bank claimed that “two checks issued to the plaintiff by Produce Depot to pay for the sales of products made by Cedro Bananas were returned by the bank for insufficient funds.”
Both parties dismissed the case in February 2021.
Subsequently, New Eastern Fresh Produce Corp. and El Sol Brands Inc. Produce Depot, Luis, and three other business partners sued on March 15, 2021.
The court papers stated: “Between October 15, 2020 and January 4, 2021, plaintiffs sold quantities of products in bulk and delivered them to Produce Depot.”
The lawsuit continued that the parties “failed to pay for the goods when payment was due, despite repeated requests” and owed the seller $77,676.25.
The plaintiff claimed that on February 24, 2021, the bank returned two checks submitted by Produce Depot for the sale of products due to “insufficient funds”.
The sellers filed to dismiss the lawsuit just days later.
Northeast Banana Corp. has filed a lawsuit against Produce Depot, Luis and a business partner.
“Between November 30, 2020 and December 14, 2020, NBC sold and delivered to Produce Depot in bulk quantities of interstate commercial products, including bananas, bananas, and pineapples, for at least $44,490,” the lawsuit reads. .”
The business partner included in the lawsuit made “repeated promises” that Produce Depot would make certain payments after defaulting on amounts owed, but the Northeast Banana Company “did not receive” the payments.
The lawsuit reads: “To date, Produce Depot has failed and refused to pay NBC for the product within the payment terms agreed between the parties.”
As for Lewis, he allegedly “failed to direct the Produce Depot to fulfill its legal duties” and “knew or should have known that at all relevant times the Produce Depot was in violation.”
Lewis has been described as a “controlling officer, director, member, and/or shareholder of Produce Depot.”
On April 8, 2021, the parties chose to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit after reaching a settlement.

While appearing as a guest on Watch What Happens Live, Theresa revealed to host Andy Cohen that she and Lewis are not planning on having a pre-event experience.
