Former Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has memos coming in November

New York – Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu releases memoirs this fall. “Bibi: My Story” will be published on November 22, three weeks after the parliamentary elections in Israel.

“I was born a year after the founding of the Jewish state, I have dedicated my life to fighting forces that seek to destroy it and making peace with those who do not,” Netanyahu, 72, said in a statement released Tuesday by Threshold Editions. Simon & Schuster’s department that publishes conservative books.

“My story is a story of tragedy, triumph, setbacks, successes, lessons learned and cherished loved ones. It is woven with Israel, which has demonstrated that faith and determination can overcome insurmountable difficulties to forge a brilliant future.”

Other threshold authors include former Vice President Dick Cheney and former President Donald Trump, a close ally of Netanyahu while in the White House. Netanyahu previously wrote “Permanent Peace” and “Fighting Terror”, among other books.

Prior to Netanyahu’s ouster in the 2021 elections, Netanyahu was Israel’s longest-running leader – and the most polarized, supported and condemned for his hard-line stance against the Palestinians. He now stands at the center of Israel’s long-running political crisis, with a host of parties refusing to sit with him in government because he is on trial for corruption: Israel has held five elections in less than four years.

Netanyahu’s 12-year tenure included building extensive settlements in the occupied West Bank and leading three wars against the Hamas terror group that rules Gaza. He was also a vocal opponent of the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and several world powers, including the United States. Iran resumed some of its nuclear activities after Trump withdrew from the accord in 2018.

Netanyahu is the son of a prominent Zionist educator, Pension Netanyahu, and brother of Jonathan Netanyahu, who was killed while leading a famous 1976 hostage rescue aboard a hijacked plane in Entebbe, Uganda. Longtime nationalist Likud party leader, Benjamin Netanyahu also served as Prime Minister from 1996-1999.

According to Threshold, “Bibi” will range from Netanyahu’s early years to his “unique view of the geopolitics of the Middle East” and his “negotiations with Presidents Clinton, Obama and Trump to secure his country’s future.”

Netanyahu, known for being a political magician capable of outsmarting his opponents, has vowed to get his old job back. But he is currently facing charges in three separate cases, including allegations that while in office, he accepted gifts worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from Hollywood film producer Arnon Milchan and Australian billionaire James Packer. He is also accused of trying to organize positive coverage in a major Israeli newspaper in exchange for promoting legislation that would have stymied the news outlet’s main competitor, a free, pro-Netanyahu daily.

Netanyahu has denied any wrongdoing.
