49ers, Jimmy Garoppolo Agree To Restructure Deal, Reports

The 49ers and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo They agreed to the terms of a restructured one-year contract that would make him the highest-paid backup in the NFL, according to multiple reports.

ESPN’s Adam Shifter reports that Garoppolo, who initially lost his spot to Trey Lance earlier this season, will receive a fully guaranteed base salary of $6.5 million. Additionally, the veteran’s new QB contract is said to include $500,000 in bonus roll and playtime bonuses that can boost the overall value by an additional $9 million.

Schefter also reported that San Francisco included no-trade and no-tag clauses in the contract, allowing the 30-year-old to decide his fate as a free agent outside next season.
