Joe Mazzola will likely coach the Celtics if Ime Udoka is suspended, says report

ESPN She mentioned that Ime Udoka will likely be suspended for the 2022–23 season due to a consensual relationship with a woman in Celtics staff and now it looks like one of his lieutenants will have to take up his role.

according to ESPN’s Adrian WojnarowskiAssistant Joe Mazzola is likely to become Boston’s interim coach for this season. Mazzola has never served as a head coach in the NBA before, but has worked as an assistant at Glenville State, Fairmont State and Maine Red Claws. He was head coach for Vermont from 2017-19 until he was offered a job on the bench in Boston.
