Roger Federer ends career with Laver Cup loss alongside Nadal

It was an emotional first day at the Laver Cup on Friday as tennis fans bid farewell to Roger Federer after the final match of the 41-year-old’s career.

Federer, who announced on September 15 that the long-awaited match would be his last, joined forces with longtime rival and friend Rafael Nadal in a doubles match against American Jack Sock and rising star Francis Tiafoe. The legendary duo did everything they could to outsmart their opponents, but when all was said and done, it was Sock and Tiafoe who won the hotly contested case, 4-6, 7-6(2), 11-9.
