Today’s Al Roker starred at co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin in an uncomfortable live TV moment
THE TODAY Show featured meteorologist Al Roker on live TV broadcasts with his co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin.
During the pop culture section, Savannah and Craig started singing a Whitney Houston song and Al was clearly not amused.
On Thursday’s show, Shenelle Jones led a segment about the late Whitney Houston.
The movie I stared at called The Bodyguard is back in theaters, and the show featured a clip of her singing her classic song, I Will Always Love You.
Marking the film’s 30th anniversary, The Bodyguard will return to theaters for two days in November.
This comes just a month before the premiere of Whitney Houston’s biography.
“Can you sing I’m every woman?” Savannah Craig asked, after the clip ended.
They started singing and having a great time until Craig saw Al’s face.
He didn’t smile and looked at the camera with a serious expression.
“number?” Craig asked Al while the meteorologist stared at him.

When the TODAY hosts went to talk about The Bodyguard, Al didn’t participate and sat quietly, looking like he just wanted the topic to end.

This isn’t the first time Craig has been shut down by Al.
Earlier this month, right before Al left to go on vacation, he returned to the show to talk with his co-hosts about the highlights of the summer.
Al, Craig, Shenelle, and Dylan Dreyer sat behind the host’s desk.
They all ate pizza and laughed when Sheinelle started out the part.
“Here’s the thing, we all wanted to share the highlights of our summer because it’s the end of summer,” she said.
“We’ve talked about this before. Sometimes you have pictures on your phone and you say ‘Oh, I’m going to print it out or put it in a book’ and you don’t do anything with them, but let’s talk about the highlights or maybe one of the highlights.”
“Why don’t we start with you?” Craig cut him off.
Shanell replied, “The babysitter doesn’t say Dylan.”
Al spoke and said, “No, no. We have our own kind of sketches.”
“Oh, I’m sorry,” said Craig, holding a glass.
Al denounced his presenter with a serious face, “Did you just start this show?”
“No, I thought it would be weird,” said Craig, shrugging his shoulders.
Despite his sometimes sunless demeanor towards his hosts, Al is going through a lot at the moment.
He alarmed fans after he posted a video of his medical struggles.
Al took to his Instagram on Saturday to update his followers about his health.
“I was on vacation for a few weeks, and then I went back to work,” he said as he walked down a New York street.
Wearing a baseball cap and an Oswego T-shirt, the 68-year-old continued, “But I also adjusted my knee a little bit on vacation, so I had to take a little walk.”
“Ah, I’ve got x-rays and everything like that, and the doctor said, maybe in the next six months to next year I’ll have my left knee replaced, which was replaced about 18 years ago.”
He let Today Show fans know he can still walk and do things, but he still makes her sick and walks a little slower.
He encouraged his followers, “Don’t overdo it. Do what you can and don’t go crazy.”
Al then finally joked that there’s a big ad coming that’s “so fun” and fans should “stay tuned”.
More will be revealed at the beginning of October.
Fans wished him luck in the comments after some thought he had retired from the show.
