Girlfriend Wendy Williams gives an update on the health of the troubled host after she went into rehab for struggling with substance abuse.
A source close to Wendy exclusively told The US Sun that the 58-year-old is “a lot better” inside the treatment facility as she is working on her recovery after a series of troubling behaviors and public incidents involving alcohol over the past several months.
The source added, “I can tell you that she is improving a lot. She has improved a lot and is getting stronger.”
“It’s more understandable and comprehensible than it was,” added the insider to the former talk show host who recently expressed high hopes of launching a huge podcast.
Fans of Wendy’s may remember that she has taken part in many annoying and pointless interviews since the cancellation of The Wendy Williams Show in June.
The source added that the host continues to work to get to a better place.


“She’s still at the facility. She hasn’t left, but she’s doing very well.”
This is Wendy’s second public rehab attempt since 2019.

Sean Zanotti, the star’s publicist, revealed to The US Sun last week that Wendy had checked into a “health facility” to help “manage her general health issues.”
“She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness as she prepares for a major return to the next level in her career with Wendy Experience PodcastThe actor added.
“Ms. Williams is treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world.
“We ask for your prayers and wishes during this time.”

Sources also told The US Sun that Wendy was struggling to stop drinking.
“Wendy can’t stop drinking, she just can’t,” said the insider.
A second source close to the former TV star said they believe her health is “low” due to her persistent drinking problems.
“She can’t stop drinking and she needs to stop drinking. It just makes her health problems worse.”
Escalating issues
Wendy was absent from the entire final season of The Wendy Williams Show as she battled a myriad of health issues, including Graves’ disease, lymphedema, and substance abuse.
Her production company, Debmar-Mercury, announced that her show was officially cancelled in June, and that Wendy’s time would go to her former host, Sherri Shepherd.


Wendy previously claimed to be releasing a podcast, though it’s unclear if any episodes have been taped yet.
Meanwhile, the troubled star has not had a clear income, nor has she had complete control of her bank accounts since January.
