A former bride married at First Sight in the UK has criticized the show, saying it is ‘destroying lives’.
The current series airs on E4 and viewers follow the dramatic union between Gemma and Matt.

One recent episode saw Matt walk out of a dinner after his wife made some sexual statements, and cried on a number of occasions.
He has since accused her of inappropriately touching herself in a restaurant during their honeymoon, leaving MAFS UK viewers and show pundits in shock.
However, Gemma has been vocal on social media about the way she was portrayed on the show, and her latest Instagram post saw her defending herself – before attacking the show.
Gemma began to address Matt’s accusation, saying that she had not touched herself inappropriately at the dinner table.
She wrote, “What a load of S**T. Matt started telling the same dirty jokes on our honeymoon and you said you’re starting to do it now? He said yes I should get used to you.”
“We went to dinner after an argument because he told me on the second day that he would never meet the love of his life on reality TV.
“And I needed to remember it was a TV show. These people are not our friends and they don’t have our best interests at heart.”
Gemma went on to explain what happened at the meal and how Matt was making sexist jokes as it were but it seemed “one rule for you and one rule for me”.
She concluded her first post by saying, “By the way, I was eating messy oysters. It wasn’t persistent.”
In another post, she wrote: “Did we learn anything from Love Island. Wrong versions of dangerous situations and drastically changing the course of the story…RUINS LIVES.”
Gemma did a Q&A with fans and when someone asked about her mental state, she replied, “I’m exhausted from this. I raise my hand, and my sense of humor is taken too far. But off camera it was the same.”
Another fan asked her if she regretted attending the show and she simply replied, “Yes.”
When asked if she will be doing another reality show, Gemma replied, “A documentary on reality TV, I know Oviesoko has done one but that is very close to my heart now. I will also do something that hasn’t been edited like that.”
Gemma then responded to another question to make it clear that she felt portrayed in an unpleasant light.
She got angry, “My husband made the same jokes. This is a depiction that he is one-sided Absrad. Open your eyes.”
When another fan said they hope she’s okay and think most people will realize the show has been edited for a reaction, she replied, “But that’s life spoiling.”
Her last comment was in response to someone asking which parts of the show she would have liked to have been cut from.
Gemma said his sexual banter on the wedding day changes the whole story.
“Oh and he says when we met up for coffee on our honeymoon ‘Let’s set some ground rules for this conversation, when I’m not talking to you. You’ll get a chance to talk.'”
