His three ex-girlfriends filed independent complaints to the police about his alleged “obsessive”, “manipulative” and “abusive” behaviour.

They are terrified that Roberts manages to marry a stranger on the show.

The women sounded the alarm after seeing it in trailers for the current series of the E4 Match Show – but said their claims were ignored.

Roberts was chosen by experts to take part in the current series of the show and was previously married to the Great British Lady April Banbury whom he met at the altar for the first time.

One of these ex said, “I was so shocked to see that he got a podium on a TV show. I sent a Married At First Sight message. I said I reported him to the police.”

“They asked for additional information that I gave and I didn’t hear anything else.”

Another former said, “I reached out to Married at First Sight, E4, All4, and the producers to tell them he was emotionally and mentally abusive to women.”

The third said: I sent everything I had. They said they would study it.”

All the women dated him since his divorce from his first wife. Each told the cops that he “bombed them with love” by showering them with affection and gifts before his behavior became “coercive and controlling”.

The series is half way through. Financial advisor George, a father of four from Worcestershire, went on a honeymoon in the Caribbean with April.

But she hinted on Instagram over the weekend that the relationship was over.

She wrote, “The trauma from this show made me re-evaluate things. I really have and am not ashamed to admit, I’ve been seeing a therapist ever since.”

Channel 4, which operates E4, claimed that rigorous checks had been carried out on the contestants and “any allegations of this nature are taken seriously”.

A company spokesperson said: “We work incredibly closely with our production partners to ensure that all Married at First Sight UK shareholders undergo rigorous background and psychological screenings, including the most detailed police checks production is capable of.

“Any allegations of this nature are taken seriously by Channel 4.”

A source on a TV show claimed that they were not aware of the allegations before the show began.

They said, “They were not informed of these allegations until after the filming was completed.”

Women’s Aid said the entertainment industry should send a clear message – domestic violence will not be tolerated.

Last night, April said: “These discoveries caused me six days to go. My head spins so much that I can’t comment.”

A spokesman for Roberts said: “George categorically denies the allegations.

“As a father of daughters, he finds these accusations very disturbing and does not condone abuse and does not act in this way.

“The allegations were never brought to his attention, and the police neither investigated nor contacted them with valid reasons because they are simply untrue.”
