Former Capitol Police Chief Has a Deal for Jan. 6 Book

New York The US Capitol Police Chief during the January 6 siege has a book deal. Stephen A.’s book will be released. Sund “Courage Under Fire: Under Siege and Top 58 to 1 on Jan. 6” on Jan. 3, just two years before the anniversary of the riots by President Donald Trump’s supporters.

“It’s time to break my silence and reveal everything I know has happened,” Sond said in a statement Monday from Blackstone Publishing.

Sund resigned under pressure shortly after January 6 and testified the following month that he had not seen an FBI field report warning of potential violence. He said the Capitol invasion was the result of widespread failures.

“No single civilian law enforcement agency—and certainly not the USCP—is trained and equipped to fend off, without significant military or other law enforcement assistance, a mutiny of thousands of armed, violent and coordinated individuals focused on penetrating a building at any cost,” he testified.

According to Blackstone, Sonde will provide “a detailed and harrowing account of the attack minute by minute” and trace “Sound’s extraordinary journey from his January 6 command post to his explosive testimony behind closed doors to the January 6 commission.” Sound will include an “unheard of account of a call from the White House.” ” during the siege and “unprecedented detailed conversations” between him and the Congressional leadership.

Last week, Random House and Celadon Books announced that they will release editions of the committee’s January 6 final report once it is complete. Random House will include an introduction by Representative Adam Schiff, a Democrat from California, and Celadon’s book will include an epilogue by Representative Jimmy Raskin, a Maryland Democrat. Both members of Congress are members of the committee.
