Tucker Carlson Krabs All Over Kevin McCarthy’s Midterm Agenda

Tucker Carlson on Monday praised Giorgia Meloni, the far-right politician who is likely to become Italy’s next prime minister, citing her comments about the nuclear family as an example of what is lacking in the Republican Party platform recently unveiled in Congress.

The Fox host complained that the Republican Party’s agenda, released Friday by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, does not detail the supposed threat to families posed by those on the left.

While Meloni spoke directly about the issue, Carlson said, “The difference is that in this country, it is rarely recognized except on the sidelines.”

For a GOP policy outline, “Commitment to America,” Carlson reacted tepid, calling it “good.”

“[There is] Maybe not so much in that you don’t agree with. did you hear about it? number! Probably not done. You may not have read it. Nobody really cares. why? “Because there is nothing real about it,” he said. (On Friday, Fox News host Sean Hannity interviewed McCarthy and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich about the platform, calling it “very comprehensive.”)

There is not a single word in that document about the attacks on the American family you see every day. This is the focus of most people’s concerns. How are my children will they have a life like mine? This used to be called the American Dream – does it still exist? … no. Carlson continued. (Neither the preface to nor the single page of policy outline State the word “family”).

“People resent it. Why wouldn’t they? But nobody says it. And it’s strange, because we know – and it has now been proven – that when politicians are brave enough to tell the truth about what’s really going on, they tend to be rewarded for it.”

Sunday’s election results showed Meloni, as head of the nationalist Brothers of Italy party, leading a right-wing coalition to a majority in parliament. Meloni, who is backed by Steve Bannon and who spoke at the CPAC earlier this year, has vowed to stand up for “traditional” values.

“If you want to impose totalitarian control over a country, of course you have to destroy the family first,” Carlson said after giving Meloni’s 2019 speech. “Because no one with deep family loyalty (the one thing every person should have)… will pledge absolute obedience to my politician. Why would he?”
