One main player, quarterback James Winstonwas absent saints‘ Exercise On Wednesday before the London match against the Vikings leaving fans wondering why.
Winston is currently suffering from a back injury, along with an ankle injury. Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer previously reported that Winston is dealing with four fractures to his back, but is not in danger of further damage. He has missed several training sessions since the start of the season, although he has started in all three games so far.
However, on Wednesday, the 28-year-old said it was the team’s choice not to take part in training, not to participate.
“They told me I don’t play sports. It wasn’t my choice,” said Winston. per ESPN. “I get ready like every week – I get ready to play.”
Reserve midfielder Andy Dalton stepped up to Winston on Wednesday.
Saints coach Dennis Allen explained that the decision to miss Winston was based on the team’s desire to be “healthy” ahead of the Week 4 international match. He added that there is no concern about having Winston come on Sunday, According to Stacey Dales of the NFL Network.
Winston will return to the field on Thursday to prepare for the Vikings game. It also looks like Winston is ready to play on Sunday.

Through three games, Winston completed 73 of 115 attempts for 858 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions. The Saints dropped to 1-2 with last Sunday’s loss 22-14 to the Panthers.
The Saints and Vikings kicks off at 9:30 AM ET on Sunday 2 October in London.
