Deandry Eaton came back with suns This year though to sign a presentation paper with Pacers In the off-season, but the position and the organization do not look the same. Specifically, Ayton and head coach Monty Williams may not see eye to eye after what happened in the Suns’ loss to the Suns. Dallas last year.
On Tuesday, Eaton said he and Williams haven’t had a conversation since the last game of the season.
“I haven’t spoken to Monty, nor have I spoken to him at all since the match,” Ayton said.
When asked if he’s still happy to play for Phoenix, Eaton mentioned how he’s focused on working and representing the organization well.
He said, “I’m fine.” “When I’m between these lines now I just work. I don’t play for myself, I have an organization on my chest and a name on my back that I have to represent and I’m just here to work.”
Shortly after Eaton spoke, Williams said he didn’t think it was a big deal that he and Eaton didn’t talk about because that’s the case with many men.
“There are a number of guys I haven’t spoken to,” Williams said. “I think when I’ve been on set as much as we’ve had in the past three years, first year, bubble, intense seasons, I felt the guys needed a break.”
Williams doesn’t think he needs to have a unique conversation with Ayton, while Ayton prefers letting basketball play talk rather than talk.
“I can show him better than I can tell him,” Eaton said.
