BREAKING: Universal Orlando begins phased reopening for select guests

Selected guests will be able to enjoy the initial stages of Universal Orlando as the resort begins its phased reopening process.

While Florida continues to assess the damage caused by Hurricane Ian, which has now been downgraded to a tropical storm, Orlando Parks continues to monitor the weather and assess the state of parks and resorts to make the best decisions, keeping the safety of all guests and helpers a top priority. While some parks have decided to remain closed, one of Orlando’s top theme parks has decided to begin a phased reopening tomorrow.

UniversalORL Resort announced that the park expects to begin a phased reopening process Friday, September 30, allowing entry into parts of the resort for hotel guests only. This means that the general public will not be able to access the park yet.

Universal Orlando hasn’t announced what parts of the resort will be available, but it’s certain that the most accessible areas will be the safest for guests to visit, whether it’s Universal City Walk, Universal Studios Florida, or Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Opening hours have not been announced either, but Universal has stated that additional information will be shared on Park site And social channels as administrators have a better schedule.

Currently, Universal Hotels is still operating as it focuses on taking care of its guests.

HorrorNightsORL, Universal’s most requested Halloween event, shared the same statement on its social media. It should be noted that several Halloween horror nights were also affected by the forced closures due to Hurricane Ian that hit Florida.

At the moment, there is no information on when Halloween Horror Nights will resume operations at Universal Orlando Resort, but an official announcement will certainly be made soon.
