Rapper Coolio has died at GANGSTA’S Paradise at the age of 59 after he collapsed while at a friend’s house.
Legendary rapper, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivy Jr., died Wednesday in Los Angeles, according to his representative.

Coolio’s longtime manager, Jarez, said TMZ That rap icon went to use the bathroom and never came out.
Growing anxious, the friend eventually went to check on Coolio and found him on the floor.
Medics believe the star has had a heart attack, according to TMZ.
Police were spotted at the home where the prolific singer was found at around 4pm PST.
An official cause of death was not revealed.
Coolio, a Grammy Award winning and multi-platinum recording artist, was a rookie in the late ’80s and rose to fame in 1995 with Gangsta’s Paradise.
The song was featured on the soundtrack to the 1995 film Dangerous Minds starring Michelle Pfeiffer.
Coolio came third on Celebrity Big Brother in 2009 and appeared on Ultimate Big Brother a year later.
The world of rap and hip-hop was shaken by news of his death, with Ice Cube writing: “This is sad news. I witness myself grinding this man to the top of the industry. Rest in peace.”
“Rest in power, brother. Love and respect,” LL Cool J said, as several other tributes soon poured in.
Coolio’s other songs included Fantastic Voyage, 1,2,3,4 (Sumpin’ New), and It’s All the Way Live (now).
He also did the theme song for the hit TV show Kenan & Kel, titled Aw, Here It Goes.
A few days before his death, the rapper posted a video on Instagram of a show on stage in Texas.
He did not comment on the post, instead letting the video speak for itself.
This post has become a temporary memorial as fans learn of his passing.

Hundreds of comments honoring the rap icon have flooded social media with many in disbelief that the legend has passed.

Meanwhile, on Twitter, fans are sharing their favorite songs Coolio and they are sad.
“The way TV and hip-hop were connected in the ’90s is something I’ll never forget. It gave us one of the best songs on the kenan and kel theme by coolio. Rest in peace,” one person tweeted.
Another wrote, “Thank you Coolio for giving us one of the best featured songs of all time.”

Coolio was born in August 1963 in Pennsylvania but later moved to Compton, California.
He overcame intense battles with poverty and drug addiction during his inspiring rise to fame.
Once in California, he joined the WC and Maad Circle in 1991.
Years later, in 1994, he signed with Tommy Boy Records and released his debut album, It Takes a Thief.
The album’s lead single, A Wonderful Journey, along with another song called It Takes a Thief, propelled him to fame.
Gangsta’s Paradise was released in the mid-’90s, and at this point, Coolio really rose to fame.
He went on to score Aw, Here It Goes! Which was used as the opening sequence for Nickelodeon Kenan & Kel.
His music has also appeared in Space Jam, Clueless, The Big Payback, Panther, New Jersey Drive, The Jerk Boys, Eddie, and Half Baked among other titles.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Coolio has appeared in films and on reality television.
He co-starred in Retirement with Bill Cobb, Peter Falk, Charlie Murphy, and Rip Torn.
Coolio has also starred in several HBO movies and series and had the starring roles in Batman & Robin in 1997 and Daredevil in 2003.
He co-starred in his 2007 oxygen show Coolio & The Gang.

Collio is survived by 10 children and his ex-wife Josefa Salina, whom he married in 1996.
He rose to fame when he married Josefa and they welcomed four children together – three daughters and one son.
The couple separated after four years of their marriage.
The rapper was also the father of six other children.
