In 1968, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Bonham and John Paul Jones form the popular rock band Led Zeppelin. Before taking on the name Led Zeppelin, the group completed the Yardbirds Tour under the name New Yardbirds. In a 2020 interview with Rolling Stone, Page revealed that he “slept in the closet” after one of Led Zeppelin’s early concerts.

After its formation in 1968, Blunt, Page, Bonham, and Jones performed under the New Yardbirds name to end the incomplete Yardbird Tour.
In a 2020 interview with rolling rockPaige was asked about one of the band’s New Yardbirds concerts. Then Paige revealed that after the party, he “slept in the closet.”
“I’m not sure I remember that particular show, but we played in college or high school, and they showed us a room we could sleep in, and I slept in the closet, because I wasn’t afraid of the dark. But I remember it especially, regarding the first concerts,” he shared beige.

What Jimmy Page thinks of the group’s early performances
While speaking with Rolling Stone, Page went into detail about what he had to tour once the band formed.
“We had the opportunity to play in Scandinavia in front of a live audience, [and we realized we were] A band like this Energy This is inevitable, with the dynamics to really capture them and push them back with the energy in it. Something you can’t focus on or listen to because it just has so many different characters, so many different shades and dynamics and points of interest,” Page said.
He continued, “We were able to play the new material we were going to record. We could make it live and breathe and learn through that experience, play in front of the audience and see the reactions. The reaction was phenomenal. It gave us more confidence to go into the studio, which we did, More or less then – immediately [London’s] Olympic studios.

How was Led Zeppelin formed?
For a few years in the 1960s, Paige was a member of the Yardbirds. After the group dissolved, Page considered forming his own band so he could continue playing music.
Bonham was an old friend of Page and joined the group as a drummer. Blunt joined Led Zeppelin as a singer after another artist named Terry Reed recommended him for the position.
Unaware of Page before joining the band, Jones joined in as guitarist and keyboardist after answering a classified ad.
Initially, the group chose the name New Yardbirds to complete the unfinished Yardbirds Tour. Then the group of four musicians took the name Led Zeppelin.
