The party has been in crisis since the presidential primaries in May. Wike, who lost to Atiku, expressed his dissatisfaction with the exercise, stating that he was treated unfairly by the PDP and was not transferred. Reports said he was more dissatisfied with the emergence of Delta State Governor Ivini Okwu as Atiku’s deputy.

Meanwhile, in a fresh move to appease Wake, especially with the start of presidential campaigns on Wednesday, Atiku met again with the governor on Thursday at his private residence in Asokoro, Abuja.

One of Wake’s close allies, who was privy to what was discussed at the meeting, Senator Olaka Wogo, said in an interview on Sunday that during Thursday’s meeting, the governor reiterated his demand for the former vice president not to turn back. His demand that IU should leave.

He confirmed that the meeting between Atiku and Wake ended in a dead end after the governor stuck to his demands.
