Unfortunately, things go wrong. She is trying to have surgery, but is clearly having a hard time. When Dr. Andrews asks if she’s okay, she says she’s not. “You’ll never become the doctor you were, but you have no idea what doctor you’ll be,” says Glassman.
After that, we see Lim go to physical therapy. Later, she cries in her car. Looks like it’s going to be a tough road for Lim.
Lim will struggle to find out who she is.
Liz Friedman, co-model of the show says TV line Lim will have to figure out what the business will look like in the future. Her life changed in an instant and she must make adjustments so that she can continue to do the work she loves.
“She will continue to work as a surgeon,” Friedman told the publication. “The big question is whether or not she is the same doctor as before. You will see this character struggling to figure out who she is in a different physical reality.”
One question you may have is whether Lemm is permanently paralyzed. So far, this question remains unanswered. Friedman does not want to say at this point what the outcome will be for Lim.
“Her recovery is part of future episodes, but I’m a little uncomfortable with the word ‘recovery,’ meaning that recovery doesn’t necessarily mean going back to exactly who I was,” Friedman tells TV Line. “This is something Lim will deal with. Or not [her paralysis] Durable, I don’t want to spoil the surprise.”
