This week is going to be busy about the exemption wire.
Byes begins week six, and managers will be looking for replacements for players from the Lions, Raiders, Titans and Texans. With Derek Carr and Jared Gough saying goodbye, some players, possibly quarterbacks, will need a second start, running backs for each team – Jamal Williams, Josh Jacobs, Derek Henry and Damon Pierce are all top 12 players on their squad . Site.
Recipients are a little easier to handle with exemptions, but standout talents Davante Adams and Amon-Ra St. Brown will stop this week as well. Rashad Benny struggled with an injury towards the end of the season, and James Conner is involved, so there are free players out there who will have extended roles going forward. And after what he did on Sunday, we have to talk about Tysom Hill’s rhinoceros and his fantastical potential for success once again.
Quadruple drop wire
Jeno Smith (Sea) FAAB up to 10%
Here is a list of fictional midfielders who have scored more points than Smith: Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Galen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes and Keeler Murray. ends there. The caller impressed the Seahawks’ signal again last week, this time against quality defense on the road. Smith cut the Saints for 268 passing yards and three best touchdowns of the season. It was QB3 of the week, which tracks QB2 performance, and Smith leads all players in the ESPN Passing Ranking (113.1). He rarely flips the ball, has a pair of great receivers for targeting the pitch and has extra encounters against the Cardinals and the Chargers to come. It doesn’t hurt that the Seahawks’ defense allows for the second-most points in the NFL – he’s cooking, and he has to do it. At some point, his success becomes a reality, and five games is a big enough sample for me. Go and add Smith, who is still somehow available in over 50% of leagues.
Jimmy Garoppolo (SF) FAAB up to 4%
Garoppolo had a book match against the Panthers, and was also his best of the season. He went 18 for 30 for 253 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Unlike last week, when a large portion of his yards came in and only came down in a featured running show by Deebo Samuel, Garoppolo spread the ball to the Carolinas and had a solid run despite calling Samuel only twice. There was nothing dreadful about a Garoppolo outing, but you could definitely do worse than a QB7 in a week. He can build on that performance with the Hawks and Chiefs next on the schedule.
Justin Fields (CHI) FAAB up to 4%
Fields set a very low handicap for what could be expected of him in four weeks, and he easily cleared it against the Vikings. He broke 200 yards for the first time this year, and it was also his first game without a spin. Fields have been linked with Velus Jones Jr. For touchdown, his first since week one, he added 47 rushing yards on eight runs. Add all that up, and the fields were QB9 per week. Respected – nothing more, nothing less. I understand wanting to see him again before even thinking about making a claim, let alone starting it, but he might be worth a look at his Week 6 home match against the Leaders if you’re in trouble.

Kenneth Walker (Sea) FAAB up to 40%
Walker is Seattle’s new RB1. Seahawks star Rashad Benny was sent off the field on Sunday against the Saints, and it was reported Monday that he will miss the rest of the season with a fibula fracture. This is crushing news for Penny, whose career has been plagued by injuries, and also presents a massive opportunity for Walker, in the second round of Michigan State. Walker had his best game of the season against New Orleans, though all his yardage came at 69 yards—he gained 19 yards in his other seven loads and never saw a goal in his way. His use in the previous three competitions was relatively limited (he wasn’t active in the opener), but that will change as he advances into Penny’s role, which has seen around 12 touches per game. The Penny was an RB3 with a flair for weeks high; Almost the same can be expected from Walker, available in about 50% of tournaments.
Eno Benjamin (ARZ) FAAB up to 10%
Benjamin stepped in for the injured James Conner on Sunday and had his best fantasy outing. Fitness Trainer Cliff Kingsbury said Conner (the ribs) were ‘just fine’ But his condition should be monitored as the week progresses. Even if Conner does well against the Seahawks, Benjamin is still worth adding and might be starting a contest with an expected total of over 50 points. Benjamin has at least six touches in every game this season, and Over 20% of his touches were in the red zone. He’s been more effective in dashing and receiving than Conner, and he knocked him out in a tie game against the Eagles in the fourth quarter on Sunday from 11 yards, his first of the year. Conner scored 18 goals in 2021 and has only one score this season. Without this recorded production, Conner failed to win the third round of the ADP, while Benjamin was the more efficient linebacker.

Mike Bon (den) FAAB up to 5%
Boone was clearly second in the standings after Melvin Gordon in the Broncos’ first game without Jafonte Williams. Boone seemed more explosive than the veteran once again in an ugly contest against the Colts, though. He took his seven loads for 38 yards compared to Gordon’s 54 yards at 15 yards. Their pass-game production was nearly identical — Gordon grabbed three balls for 49 yards, and Boone gained 47 in three receptions. There’s always a threat that Gordon could flounder and concede more work to Boone, but for now, he’s got more depth with some way to go before starting in Denver or your fantasy team. Gordon started the match and was on the field with Russell Wilson in the final round.

Waiver wire for wide receivers
Khalil Shaker (BUF) FAAB up to 5%
With Isaiah McKenzie and Jamison Crowder out in the injured reserve position, the rookie started in the fifth Bills, certainly making his case for a full-time role. Shaker was in 70% of the shots and picked up three of five targets for 75 yards and one point. Mackenzie (concussion) is working his way back for week six, and Dawson Knox (foot/injury) may also be back in the fold for his next marquee match with the Chiefs, both of whom would stand in the way of seeing Shaker for similar use. The rookie will continue to improve as the season goes on, and in an attack led by Josh Allen, plenty of goals will kick in. You’ll want to see it again before relying on Shaker, but it’s a solid hideaway with plenty of upsides.
Alec Pierce (India) FAAB up to 7%
Clearly, Pierce is establishing chemistry with quarterback Matt Ryan. The rookie went in the fifth round of Cincinnati without a catch in his first game of his career, but he’s been Ryan’s choice for the past two weeks. On Thursday against the Broncos, Pierce netted eight of nine goals for 81 yards—all the team’s highest. He’s picked up four out of six goals in the previous week for another 80 yards, and is quietly approaching Michael Bateman Jr. for the receiving captain despite missing a game. Unfortunately, Parris Campbell, who plays 80% of the picks versus Pierce’s 43%, is standing in the way of Pierce becoming more reliable from week to week. Still, Indianapolis has been quietly one of the most-passing teams in the league, and Pierce is one of the biggest beneficiaries of this offensive shift.
Devin DuVernay (Pal) FAAB up to 5%
DuVernay’s involvement against the Bengals was interesting. With Rashid Bateman out, he saw seven goals at a season high, which wasn’t a complete surprise. He converted those looks from Lamar Jackson to five catches for 54 yards, all his season highs. But Baltimore also got the All-Pro return on the ground by feeding him three stands, with which he gained 24 yards. Duvernay is WR24 in five weeks, scoring nine or more PPR points in every game this season. Consistency is important, and he wasn’t overly dependent on landing either. Bateman’s return, which coach John Harbo has said may be imminent, puts an end to DuVernay’s future participation, but 10 chances and usage in the running game shouldn’t be ignored.
Josh Reynolds (DET) FAAB up to 6%
The Lions’ attack came back to Earth at a closing loss for the Patriots. But Reynolds did not. He put in his third game in a row with six or more goals, eight or more goals and 80 or more yards. After his six catches for 92 yards against New England, Reynolds led Detroit in yards, an 18th (335) finish in the NFL, and from weeks 3-5, he’s WR9 in PPR. Reynolds and quarterback Jared Goff go back to their days with the Rams, so it should come as no surprise that they had a connection. Still Amon-Ra St. Brown is the best option, and TJ Hockenson will have his blast weeks, but it doesn’t make sense for Reynolds to be available in three-quarters of the leagues given his consistent high-level production. Remember, Detroit is bye this week, so don’t count on Reynolds if you need a receiver right away.

Waiver wire narrow ends
Tsum Hill (no) up to 3%
Hill scored the fourth-most points of any player in any position in Week Five. He overtook Travis Kelsey, who picked up four touchdowns in his career on Monday night, thanks to an impressive performance that went all out where he found it too. End zone four times. In a home and away game against the Seahawks, Hill rushed nine times for 112 yards and three points, including in the 60-yard run. He also completed his first and only pass attempt of the season for 22 yards, which he also touched down. Hill finished with a score of 34.08 Fantasia points, which propelled him to TE7 on the season. The return of James Winston would put an end to Hale’s use of attack, and he actually only took part in 21% of plays. The “tight end” has only one catch this season, but he’s also scored in three of the four games he’s played which is more than you can hope for from a tight end other than named Kelsey or Mark Andrews. Hill is available in the majority of leagues.
Evan Ingram (JAX) $0 FAAB Offer
Engram put his best play as Jaguar in the team’s worst game of the season. Jacksonville was knocked out of the end zone in a loss, and its top offensive weapons were limited, but Trevor Lawrence targeted Ingram above the season 10 times. He’s gone down six goals for 69 yards, both season-highs, giving the few coaches who started him a respectable outing. Ingram is in 73% of picks and ranks fourth on the team in goals this year. With Lawrence forced to pitch the ball more often – he attempted 47 passes in the season’s top run on Sunday – Ingram benefits.
