Mysterious Legacy is an interesting element in God of War Ragnarok. Unlike other relics you find on your travels, this one does nothing for you in combat. You’ll always find a better one to use on your travels, and we don’t recommend equipping it when you’re fighting some tougher enemies. However, outside of combat, it has a practical benefit. Here’s what you need to know about what you can do with the mysterious legacy in God of War Ragnarok.
How to use the mysterious legacy in God of War Ragnarok
A mysterious legacy is an item that awakens sleeping enemies, specifically stone trolls scattered across the nine worlds. There are quite a few of them that you can find in many worlds, and when you use this item in their presence, you awaken them, bringing them back to life. You can use relics that are similar to the other relics you used in God of War Ragnarok.

Although they are able to roam and are no longer stuck in their eternal slumber, the Stone Trolls are not grateful for your help. Instead, they instantly become an enemy combatant, and you’ll need to fight them. Similar to the other trolls you’ve encountered in God of War Ragnarok, these creatures have large stone pillars that you’ll use in combat. These monsters also have a similar set of moves, which means you shouldn’t have much trouble fighting them if you’ve already encountered them when they weren’t made of stone.
There are four of them in total, and each one drops a spitter stone, and you’ll want to grab them to take them back to the foundry to make a shield.
