Two-thirds of people said their confidence in science and scientists has grown during the COVID pandemic. This is according to the latest findings of the Finnish Science Barometer, published by the Finnish Society for Scientific Information on Wednesday.

Commenting on the findings, a professor of communication at the University of Helsinki said Esa Valiverronen He said the scale also indicates societal polarization, with a fifth of respondents saying their trust in science has fallen during Covid times.

The poll, conducted by pollster Kantar, attracted 1,085 respondents in Finland. The margin of error was three percentage points in both directions.
