Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 dataminers unmask Ghost, and fans are split!

Since his debut in the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Simon Riley, better known as Ghost, has been cemented as one of the franchise’s most recognizable characters, his balaclava-adorned skull making him an instantly recognizable face whenever he appears. Which is ironic considering it’s never been done without him.

At least not yet. While the ghost’s face has been kept obscured throughout his appearances (he brought it out in the recently released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 but you don’t see it), there’s a face modeled on and displayed beneath his face masks as detected by data observers. One made its way through social media.

If you prefer a mystery, we advise you not to scroll any further because we have included a picture of his face below. Unsurprisingly, Call of Duty fans have mixed opinions about what Ghost really looks like, with quite a few jokes on Reddit about it.

“He looks identical to Buzz from Lightyear. I hate everything about this.” IJDGuy. 4634 minutes of courage He adds, “He sounds like someone asking everyone to call him by his cool nickname that he definitely didn’t call himself.”

The couple have gone so far as to call him ugly or a milkwaist, but others argue that it makes perfect sense for him to look like a normal guy. “I think the face model is actually very cool. An ordinary-looking man is really believable.” EverBass. Outlaw He agrees, saying, “Yeah totally unassuming if you see him in a restaurant without the mask on.”

Some have suggested his face is supposed to be based on his voice actor, Samuel Rockin, who took over the role of Ghost in the Modern Warfare 2 reboot, replacing his previous costar Jeff Leach. It would make sense if the other members of Task Force 141 would also resemble their respective voice actors, though many others would dismiss that Ghost’s face barely resembles Roukin’s.

There are also arguments as to whether this can be considered Ghost’s primary appearance. One would assume it’s in-game, but some fans think that since players weren’t supposed to see the face from the start, Ghost could theoretically look very different if Activision decided to make an official face reveal.

“They probably didn’t bother making him look like his virtual assistant because you’re never supposed to see him exposed. I wouldn’t consider that his ‘canon’ face,” he says. Predatoria.
