While Pikachu rightfully takes all the limelight, all of the Pokémon in this line of evolutions have things that people love about them. Raichu is bigger and more powerful, but Pichu is undeniably cute. There are places around Paldea where you can find Pikachu and evolve it into Raichu, but what about the beginning of the evolution line? Here you can find and catch Pichu in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How to catch Pichu in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Pichu is actually one of the first wild Pokémon you’re likely to encounter in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but it will take some luck for it to appear. However, it is likely that you have passed the area in which you appear and will need to return to it. Pichu appears around Los Platos and to the south of Cortondo.
While Pichu only appears locally at these two spots, it is a rare occurrence, so you will likely have to spend some time walking around before it appears. Make sure to walk close to trees as they prefer those areas, but they can appear in the open as well. If she happens to be sleeping, you can easily walk up to her, but these Pokemon are very friendly anyway and won’t run away from you.
If you’re going back to catching Pichu around Los Platos, you’ll probably be better off throwing Pokéballs at it to catch it rather than trying to damage it. It will be a very low level with no great stats, so we recommend avoiding damaging it unless you are using a Pokemon of the same level.
After you catch a Pichu, you can start to evolve her into a Pikachu by keeping her in your party and leveling up her friendship with you. Make sure to keep them healthy and put them in situations where you can win fights. When a friendship is high enough, and evolving, it will evolve.
