How to unlock cosmetics in Warhammer 40k: Darktide

At the start of the game, you won’t have any customization options, but there are a few ways to buy and earn them. You can earn cosmetics by completing challenges via the Penance system, which includes performing certain tasks or unique conditions such as hitting weaknesses during an ultimate ability, or simply leveling up your character. You can also buy cosmetics from the Armory Exchange for both your weapons and your outfit, which can then be applied to the appropriate weapon through your inventory. There is also an in-game store for cosmetics that you can buy with premium currency that you earn or pay for through microtransactions – although it was not available during the pre-order of the beta.

If we are talking about a more dramatic makeover like your character’s face, then there is an option for that as well. You can find the Barber-Chirurgeon by going to the left side of Mourningstar as soon as you appear. Head to the end of the corridor and enter the door through the weapons exchange. Here you can change your character’s appearance including hair, face shape, eye color, scars, tattoos, and facial hair. This is also level unlocked, which means you can use it at any time for a small fee. However, you can’t change your backstory after you’ve created your character, and that requires a fresh start.
