I’m A Celebrity viewers found themselves overcome with emotion as they saw Zara Tindall reuniting with her husband Mike after he narrowly missed a place in this year’s finale.

During Saturday’s penultimate installation, the former rugby player was the latest celebrity eliminated, leaving Owen Warner, Matt Hancock and Jill Scott in the running to be crowned King or Queen of the jungle.

Chatting to the presenters in his exit interview, Mike admitted he was ‘happy to go’ but he had a ‘lot of fun’ on his ‘amazing journey.’

‘I’ve been very lucky with everyone that’s been in there and how camp’s worked together. Being in a team for a long period of my life, I didn’t expect it to work as well as it did,’ he said.

Viewers weren’t sure whether Zara – daughter of Princess Anne – would be in Australia to greet Mike once he left the jungle, but to everyone’s surprise, she waited on the other side of the bridge with open arms.

Zara ran towards her husband – whom she married in 2011 – and they shared a long-lasting tight hug.

Safe to say the heartwarming embrace really struck a chord with fans, with one writing: ‘Oh my god I’m pathetic watching #ImACCeleb has just brought a tear to my eye, seeing Zara & Mike hugging each other was really touching.

‘All of the other halfs really happy to see each other at the end of the bridge. That’s what I want from a relationship, a loving hug.’

‘Find someone who looks at you the way mike looked at zara when he saw her on the bridge,’ another added.

Following their sweet reunion, Mike shared an adorable snap of Zara adoringly gazing at her other half.

‘Reunited!!! ❤️ Back to normality and time to eat!!! Thanks for all the kind messages! It was a blast!.’ I shared on Instagram.

In our Metro.co.uk poll, fans believe Lioness’ Jill will be the one taking the crown.

However, viewers also voted former health minister Hancock as the next favorite to win despite the ongoing controversy surrounding his stint on the program.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here returns tonight at 9pm on ITV.
