How to get the check scarf in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
The choice scarf can be purchased at the Delibird Presents Shop in Mesagoza. It will be unlocked after you get 4 gym badges, and it will be available for purchase at the exorbitant price of 100,000 yen. It is a popular item, especially in the competitive scene, as it raises the user’s speed stat, although they will only be allowed to use one move. This allows a slower Pokémon to outpace a faster Pokémon that normally wouldn’t be able to outpace, which can sometimes mean the difference between victory or defeat. However, keep in mind the individual move restriction, as a Choice-locked Pokémon will become vulnerable to a Revenge Kill if your opponent switches a Revenge Killer that can take advantage of the move it is currently locked in.
With that being said, the check scarf is a fun and unique item to play with. Pokémon with decent speed and powerful attack moves will make the most of Choice Scarf’s speed boost, often playing the roles of quick sweepers or retaliation killers on their teams. Examples include but are not limited to Garchomp, Salamence, and Gengar, all of which are great Pokemon in their own right. Throw in the scarf of choice and they become terrifyingly quick threats that are hard for any opponent to ignore.
