WWE Survivor Series War Games results, grades: Bloodline accepts Sami

WWE superstar Sami Zayn proves himself to The Bloodline - Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso - at Survivor Series War Games

Sami Zayn may have sold his soul to The Bloodline as Roman Reigns and his family finally accepted him into the fold.

The Honorary Uce proved his loyalty to the formidable WWE group in the main event of Survivor Series War Games as he laid out his best friend Kevin Owens to help the Tribal Chief’s group to victory.

There was so much at stake going into the huge bout, with Sami’s relationship with various members of the group – especially Jey Uso – playing massively into it, especially after some backstage drama earlier in the night setting the tone.

Of course, the Brawling Brutes and their teammates KO, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus deserve a tonne of credit for the brutality fans saw on display here, with some great moments littered throughout.

This was heavily driven by the story though, with things taking a twist when Jey accidentally hit Sami with a superkick, but the former Intercontinental Champion recovered to stop the referee counting to three after KO’s Stunner on Roman.

He looked conflicted after a low blow but followed up with a Helluva Kick, sacrificing Owens and leaving him on the mat for Jey to land a Splash for the win.

Despite fans almost expecting The Bloodline to turn on Zayn tonight, the saga took another twist as Zayn appeared to truly be throwing himself into the group, committing to them above all else.

The storyline continues to be one of the most exciting tales in all of pro wrestling, and the emotional rollercoaster is set to continue for some time.

Austin Theory steals United States Championship, Becky Lynch returns in War Games and more

The show kicked off with the women’s War Games match as Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Mia Yim and Becky Lynch defeated Damage CTRL trio Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai, Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripley.

This adds to the already impressive legacy of the brutal match, with all 10 stars going into battle with trash cans, ladders, kendo sticks and more in search of victory.

Plenty of stories and references were weaved into this one, including Alexa and Nikki’s past, Iyo’s War Games history with a trash can and SummerSlam itself, while Lynch got the win for her team with a wild leg drop off the top of the cage through a table.

Following a War Games match will always be an unenviable task, and despite battling an occasionally quiet crowd, AJ Styles and Finn Balor delivered in a tough spot.

The OC’s Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson brawled into the crowd with Judgment Day duo Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio partway through, leaving the two supremely talented stars to deliver something special with no distractions.

In the end, after showing off their chemistry and history, it was Styles who picked up in the win over Balor to score his first PLE victory in years.

Shotzi and Ronda Rousey didn’t quite make things work despite the efforts of both challenger and champion.

A huge dive onto the SmackDown Women’s Champ – and some ‘fans’ – was a definite highlight, but elsewhere the crowd just wasn’t getting into the action, even chanting ‘we want Sasha’, although the Boston native never appeared.

Austin Theory shocked the capacity crowd by regaining the United States Championship by pinning Seth Rollins to steal a win from Bobby Lashley after an incredible Triple Threat.

It’s quite the turnaround in fortunes for the former Money In The Bank holder, with Theory able to capitalize when the All Mighty hit the Visionary with a huge Spear while he had Theory up for a Falcon Arrow.

He fell straight into a pin, the ref counted to three and we have a new US Champion!
