Mithila Palkar and her older sister when they were young
She was born into a Marathi family in Mumbai on January 10, 1993. She grew up with her grandparents and attended school at IES Modern English Language School. She went to Mithibai Motiram Kundnani College (Mumbai) for her higher education.
She earned her BA in Media (BMM), her sister got her PhD in neuroscience and moved to Los Angeles.
During her school years, she participated in school theater competitions and performed on stage for the first time when she was twelve years old. Since then, she has continued to participate in drama, singing and dancing competitions.
Mithila is a well trained Kathak dancer who has taken acting lessons at Stella Adler Studio (Los Angeles).
In 2012, when she was in her sophomore year of college, she tried out for a role in a production of Quasar Theatre, but was chosen to work behind the scenes instead. Later, she was appointed Festival Director at Thespo, which gave her the opportunity to meet the director and meet more people at the production house.

Mithila’s first film role was as Rujuta in the Marathi film Majha Honeymoon, which was released in 2014. In the same year, she played the role of Koyal Kabra in the Bollywood film Katti Batti.
Then, due to how well she did in films, she got offers from commercial ad companies and worked with famous brands like Zomato, Maggi, and Tata Tea.
Palekar rose to fame when she played the role of Meera Sehgal in the web series Bindass Girl in the City and worked with Pocket Aces (Content Creator).
In 2016, she got a lot of attention in the media because of her video clip “Cup Song”. In the video, she sings the Marathi song “Hi Chaal Turu Turu” using a plastic cup as an instrument. The song was an inspiration for American actress Anna Kendrick, who put the song on her YouTube channel, which got a lot of attention on social media.
During the Quasar Theater Festival, she met Dhruv Sehgal, an actor working at Filter Copy. He asked her to work for him, but she said no. In 2016, Dhruv asked her to audition for a candidate copy.

Before being in Filter Copy videos, she played Kavya Kulkarni in the Netflix web series Little Things.
