10 of the best music festivals in London for summer 2023

There’s no shortage of music festivals coming to London in summer 2023.

From major events such as BST Hyde Park and Wireless, to genre-specific gigs such as Cross The Tracks or Mighty Hoopla, there’s truly something for every music fan.

It doesn’t matter whether you like dance, electronic, rap, jazz, funk, soul, indie rock or unashamed pop, there’ll be a festival for you – happening in one of the UK capital’s many parks.

Here are some of London’s top 2023 music festivals –with dates, locations, who’s playing, and how to get tickets.

All Points East

Date: Friday, August 18 and Friday, August 25 2023 – more dates TBA

Location: Victoria Park in East London

Who’s performing? On August 18, Stormzy will be the headliner, with a line-up curated by him still TBA.

The second day of All Points East will be headlined by The Strokes along with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, plus Norwegian indie star Girl In Red, US singer Angel Olsen, Brit band Black Midi and Aussie rockers Amyl and the Sniffers will also play. The rest of the line-up is TBA.

All Points East usually takes place over 10 days in August, so more dates for the festival are likely to be announced over the coming months.

How can you get tickets? Tickets for August 18 (with Stormzy headlining) are available now on the All Points East website.

Tickets for August 25 will be on general sale from 10am on Friday, January 27 hereand presale is available from 10am on Thursday, January 26 – for which you can sign up now.

BST Hyde Park

Date: Saturday, June 24 to Saturday, July 8 2023 – on specific days

Location: Hyde Park in Central London

Who’s performing? There’s a varied line-up for BST Hyde Park, which has yet to be announced in full.

However, we do know popstar Pink is headlining on June 24 and 25, and rock icons Guns N Roses are headlining on June 30.

Take That take the stage on July 1, just a day before K-pop sensations Blackpink make their UK festival debut on July 2.

Billy Joel will perform on July 7 – though if you were hoping to see Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band on July 6 and 8, sadly those shows are already sold out.

Cross The Tracks

Date: Sunday, May 28 2023

Location: Brockwell Park in South London

Who’s performing? Expect plenty of jazz, funk and soul (that’s what this festival is all about).

NxWorries (a collaboration between Anderson .Paak and producer Knxwledge), Kelis, Masego and Alfa Mist are 2023’s headliners – and acts include DOMi & JD Beck, Gilles Peterson, Raven Lenae, Yazmin Lacey, The Silhouettes Project, Son Little, Cherise and Lunch Money Life, among others.

Funk, soul and jazz composer Roy Ayers is also billed as performing a farewell tour.

Field Day

Date: Saturday, August 19 2023

Location: Victoria Park in East London

Who’s performing? We don’t know yet, as the line-up for the electronic music showcase has yet to be revealed.

Rumors abound that Aphex Twin might be among the headliners, thanks to a cryptic website domain with Field Day’s date spotted by rolling stonesthough this hasn’t been confirmed as yet.

Past Field Days have seen The Chemical Brothers, Kraftwerk, Peggy Gou, BICEP, Skepta, Jorja Smith, Pusha T, Diplo, Bonobo and Jungle take to the stage.

How can you get tickets? Tickets aren’t on sale yet, but you can sign up for updates on Field Day’s website.

lovebox

Date: Dates TBC, but the website reads ‘Lovebox will return’ after a pandemic-related delay.

Location: Gunnersbury Park in West London

Who’s performing? Alas, we don’t know. There isn’t even a date for the festival yet, but Lovebox has a history of epic line-ups, so hopes will be high for a 2023 return.

The last Lovebox in 2019 had an eclectic line-up featuring Solange, 2 Chainz, Chance The Rapper, Lizzo, Action Bronson, Slowthai, Brockhampton, Cypress Hill and Annie Mac.

And the ill-fated 2020 line-up, scuppered by Covid-19, was pretty incredible too: Tyler The Creator, Disclosure, Khalid, Robyn, FKA Twigs, Hot Chip, Jorja Smith, Anderson .Paak, Chase & Status, Fatboy Slim , Mabel, Charli XCX, among others.

How can you get tickets? They’re not on sale yet, but you can sign up for email updates via the Lovebox website.

meltdown

Date: Friday, June 9 to Sunday, June 19 2023

Location: South Bank Center

Who’s performing? The line-up will be selected by Christine and the Queens star Redcar, who is best known for hits including Titled, Girlfriend and People, I’ve Been Sad.

He said: ‘What an honor to be picked by the fantastical teams of the Meltdown festival to be a curator. I will pick musicians that have some gut-wrenching quality, and I wish for all of us to stroll around in those ten days being rejuvenated by artistic gestures.’

Names won’t be revealed until spring 2023, but it already sounds intriguing.

Past curators of the festival have included Grace Jones, Nile Rodgers, Robert Smith and MIA

How can you get tickets? It seems they’re still to come, so keep an eye on the Southbank Centre’s website for updates.

Mighty Hoopla

Date: Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4 2023

Location: Brockwell Park in South London

Who’s performing? 2023’s line-up is led by Kelly Rowland and Years & Years.

Also taking the stage at the two-day pop bonanza are performers bound to make you feel nostalgic, including Aqua, Natasha Bedingfield, Rachel Stevens, Samantha Mumba and the Vengaboys.

Expect performances from Beverley Knight, Jake Shears, Jamelia, Kelis, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Soul II Soul, too – with the full line-up listed here.

We Are FSTVL

Date: Friday, August 25 to Sunday, August 27 2023

Location: Damyns Hall Aerodrome in Upminster

Who’s performing? TBA – but expect We Are FSTVL’s largest line-up ever to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

Past line-ups have included Mabel, KSI, Craig David, Apollonia, The Blessed Madonna, Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Chip, Artful Dodger, Groove Armada, The Martinez Brothers and countless others.

Wide Awake Festival

Date: Saturday, May 27 2023

Location: Brockwell Park in South London

Who’s performing? Dubbed a ‘celebration of independent music and counter culture’, the 2023 line-up includes headliner Caroline Polachek.

Also in the line-up are Alex G and Cambridge rock band Black Country, New Road, along with producers Daniel Avery and Oneohtrix Point Neve, and bnds Two Shell, V!agra Boys and Warmduscher.

How can you get tickets? Early Bird tickets are sold out, but there are still General Admission and VIP tickets for sale via the Wide Awake Festival website

Wireless

Date: Friday, July 7 to Sunday, July 9 2023

Location: Finsbury Park in North London

Who’s performing? We don’t know yet, as the line-up is set to be announced this week… In the past, Wireless has welcomed the likes of ASAP Rocky, Cardi B, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj and Skepta.

How can you get tickets? Early bird tickets are available now on the Wireless website.
