How Tanta Familiar Monuments work in Forspoken!

There is a ton of side content to access in Forspoken with each activity giving you something special. If you’re looking for more information about the world, head to one of the many familiar Tanta ruins scattered around the world in Athens. Each of these relics offers information if you can befriend the monster that appears around it. Be friendly and don’t scare the parents away. This guide will show you how the familiar Tanta effects work in Forsbuken.

How to make friends with Familiars in Forspoken

As you explore the world of Athena, you may end up finding statues with cats on them. At the base, there are stacks of books. While these statues are quite decorative and pretty to look at, they are also the home of the Tantas Familiars. Each of the Familiars in Forspoken is a cat creature with some sort of makeover. Some members of the family have wings while others have unicorn horns. Each familiar style belongs to a different tanta.

When you come across the familiar Tanta statue, you’ll see a small light appear before the Familiar lands on a nearby platform. Your goal is to get close to the familiar without freaking out. If you freak out, you fail the mission and the familiar disappears. After the familiar appears, approach him slowly and bow when you get the prompt. On the PS5, the crouch button is L2. Be careful, crouching at the wrong time will cause you to use a support spell.

Approach the familiar slowly and stop anytime an exclamation mark appears over his head. When the exclamation mark is gone, you can continue with your approach. When you reach Familiar, press the onscreen button to raise it. You will be given a short cutscene that shows a familiar interacting with Frey before he disappears. Then, you’ll get a snippet of information about the familiars and their role in the world. If you fail at one of these small bits of side content, you can go back to the statue and start over.
