How to make money writing songs in The Sims 4
Before your Sim can write their songs, there will be a lot of rehearsals in your future. You can’t expect them to pick up a mic and be the next star. Even after you get to the right level, it takes 12 hours to write a song before you can license it and make money on it.
To get started, you just need to practice using any tool. If you have different DLC packs, you will be able to get tools from those packs to practice with. Whatever your Sim has in his house will work, whether it’s a guitar or a piano. Make sure you practice your instrument in public. While doing so, you can play for tips, which contribute to your practice but also bring in some money for bills. Keep practicing with them until they reach the eighth level with this instrument.
When you reach the eighth level, you can start writing songs when you go to interact with the instrument. When you write a song with an instrument, there will be a sheet of music in your Sim’s inventory. If you have to stop for any reason, this will keep your progress on that song. Simply select it to continue where you left off.
When you reach level nine, you can finally license that song for money. Use the mailbox to license a song. You will play for a week and get between 200 and 800 Simoleons every morning at 10 am. Each instrument can only have one licensed song on it at a time, so to earn more money you will need to practice on each instrument up to the ninth level.
