After 20 years, Kadabra is finally free from its Pokemon Trading Card game ban!

Kadabra is finally released from the unfair imprisonment he was subjected to by his fellow con man. After its ban was removed, the spoon-type psycho-type Pokemon is now set to return to the Pokemon Trading Card Game after two decades of being shut out of the scene.

According to a Official announcement From PokeBeach, they were able to confirm Kadabra’s inclusion in the upcoming Pokemon Card 151 collection after seeing her name listed on the sale sheet. It was apparently only a matter of time until the popular Psycho-type Pokemon was reintroduced after Uri Geller finally retracted his copyright claims on the card a few years ago.

For those unfamiliar with the situation, the trouble began when Geller, himself a gifted spoon, first discovered the kadabra card during a trip to Japan. Upon being notified of its existence, he first noticed the card’s Japanese name, Youngerer, which was eerily similar to his own. Kadabra’s appearance also didn’t help his case because the commercial Pokemon bent spoon only confirmed Geller’s suspicions that the card was made based on his likeness.

Unfortunately, this uncanny resemblance prompted Geller to sue Nintendo for creating the card without his permission. The scammer’s initial lawsuit would then be filed in November 2000 and the controversy surrounding the card would force the Japanese gaming giants to immediately stop producing all types of Kadabra cards.

Although Geller’s charges were eventually dismissed in 2003, he stubbornly continued to file more lawsuits after that, all of which were similarly dismissed. This endless cycle would continue for more than a decade, that is, until 2020 when Geller finally changed hands, leading to the happy ending everyone had been hoping for.
