Resident Evil 4 Remake church and cemetery gameplay preview shows off stealth, new enemy type, and more!

Resident Evil 4 Remake is getting closer and closer to release, and Capcom is wasting no time showing just how hard they’ve worked to create the definitive Resident Evil 4 experience. The remake is shaping up to be a faithful adaptation of the original game with everything fans were hoping for mixed in with some new stuff to keep them on their toes. The latest gameplay video preview shows some of the game’s fifth chapter. Leon and Ashley explore the church and cemetery while fending off ganados, bad dogs, cowmen, and oh my god!

The gameplay looks pretty much the same as the original game with a recent overhaul. Leon can still hit downed enemies as if punching bags. Players who want to be stealthy can try sneaking up on the pesky Ganado with the crouching perk that looks similar to The Last of Us.

Ashley also looks as though she’ll be more involved with the gameplay this time around. Players will send her to help down the stairs, as seen in this short video. Gone are the days of throwing them in the trash while taking down enemies.

The gameplay also shows how the new side quests are introduced, where Leon stumbles upon blue notes taped to the wall and presents objectives. One of these causes Remake to encounter an infected dog enemy, which later sprouts a scorpion-like appearance as it destroys Leon.

The game ends with a montage of the famous cabin encounter with Louis, who looks much more cool and charming this time around. Dialogue has also been revamped, with no mention of ballistics here. Combat looks just as chaotic as the original with an added sense of awe from a new enemy who wields a hammer and wears a severed cow’s head atop his head.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is set to release on console and PC on March 24th. It is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and the original is a classic beloved by many people. This gameplay footage looks like fans will be getting a remake promising additional content to keep them on their toes.
