Britney Spears has celebrated her surprise reunion with her mom, Lynne Spears, after a lengthy feud.
The Toxic singer publicly slammed her mother, 68, and other members of her family over her controversial conservatorship ordeal – after she was finally freed from the court order in 2021.
However, after the 41-year-old extended an olive branch on Instagram at the end of last year, it seems that the pair are slowly on their way to reconciling.
In a new post on social media, the pop icon shared a throwback snap of herself with fans, detailing their meeting.
‘My sweet mama showed up at my door step yesterday after 3 years,’ she began. ‘It’s been such a long time.
‘With family there’s always things that need to be worked out but time heals all wounds!!! And after being able to communicate what I’ve held in for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we were able to try to make things RIGHT!!!
I love 💕 you so much!!! [sic].’
She added: ‘Psss… I’m so blessed we can have coffee together after 14 years!!! Let’s go shopping afterwards!!!’
Tension between Britney and her family have been well-documented over the last few years, as the Slave 4 U singer spoke out against her conservatorship – which she was placed under in 2008.
During a hearing in 2021, she revealed shocking details of the court order, which included her allegedly being banned from removing a contraceptive IUD implant from her body so she could have children with Sam.
Her dad, Jamie Spears, eventually volunteered to remove himself from being in charge of the conservatorship before a judge agreed to terminate it, allowing the mom-of-two the freedom to make decisions about her own life for the first time in 13 years.
She has since openly blasted her loved ones on social media for their involvement, with Lynne insisting that she had since ‘tried everything’ to reach her daughter.
‘Britney, your whole life I have tried my best to support your dreams and wishes,’ she wrote last August. ‘And also, I have tried my best to help you out of hardships!
‘I have never and will never turn my back on you! Your rejections to the countless times I have flown out and calls make me feel hopeless!
‘I have tried everything. I love you so much, but this talk is for you and me only, eye to eye, in private.’
A few months later, Britney reached out herself alongside a selfie from Mexico, penning: ‘After no coffee for 15 years… Mom we can go have coffee together now!!!
‘I’m treated as an equal… Let’s have coffee and talk about it!!!’
